NICKI MINAJ 911 Call

DALLAS — Police came to an upscale Dallas hotel after rapper Nicki Minaj was involved in a fight she was having with an unknown man.

When police arrived, she said the man punched her in her lip.

TMZ reports:

When cops and paramedics arrived, Nicki told authorities their poolside fight continued inside of their room … and the man hit her in her lower lip.

The man had already left the scene when cops arrived … but Nicki insisted she did NOT want to press charges. Nicki also claimed she was NOT in a relationship with the alleged attacker.

Minaj claimed that she was not in a relationship with the man. She has previously been linked to her hype-man, Safaree Samuel. It was alleged that Amber Rose had sent nude pictures to Samuel.

I have no comment on this matter.

Just so yall know the OMG Girlz are still working hard although the group has had its up’s and downs. The group just added a new member to their line-up following the departure of the group’s original member Lourdes “Lolo”. No they did not fall out she is just focusing on school which is very important to Tiny and Keshia, the groups managers. Tiny Tameka Cottle, who is also the group’s mentor, confirmed Breaunna aka Baby Doll as the newest OMG girl.
The homies over at BlackCelebKids are reporting that Tiny said via Twitter, “Hey fam. Follow the newest OMG Girl @Babydoll_OMG_. She’s such a sweetheart & my new doll! Can’t wait till you see the OMG Girlz now!”

Originally a quartet, the group became a trio when Reginae Carter,12, rapper Lil’ Wayne’s daughter, left the group. 11-year-old Lolo was the next to leave after she was deemed too young for the group.
Zonnique Pullins and Bajha are now the only remaining members from the initial line-up. The group now consists of Zonnique, Bajha and Breaunna.

We’ve found this ho hard to swallow (PAUSE) from the beginning so we don’t know what to believe about her latest claims that she and Soulja Boy have kissed and made up since her rocks expose and that she’s even cool with Fab’s homie who slapped her in the face.

In a recent interview with VIBE.com Kat Stacks gives up the goods on “the real Andrea Herrera,” her drinking problem and making friends with the rappers she’s put on front street. Check out the excerpts below:

On being a crazy drunkard:

Kat Stacks: When I first started blasting these people… I never expected to do this. One night I was drunk and my home-girl told me to make a video on YouTube when my Twitter got hacked and I had no access to the Internet to speak out. I just made the video drunk, but I didn’t have the [intention] to do all this.

You were drunk for every video?

Yes, each time [laughs]. I’m a very violent, wild drunk. So the first time the public saw that side of me, that’s what they liked and that’s the only time I could let anything out there without caring about anyone’s feelings.

So what are you like sober?

Other people and rappers who meet me say ‘Why aren’t you wild? Why are you boring?’ And I’m like cause I’m sober and they’re like well you need to start drinking [laughs].

On Soulja Boy and Fabolous:

You sound amused with yourself. Does that mean you have no regrets?

I don’t regret any of the things I’ve done to the people I exposed… except for Soulja Boy. We were actually good friends and we just had one misunderstanding and lack of communication that day when I put the video out. I did it out of being angry that day instead of thinking of what we had in the past. I apologized to him and we’re friends now, we squashed beef. It’s not the same relationship as before, but we’re still cool.

Your words make it seem like he was your boyfriend.

Um, not really a boyfriend, but someone I can sit down and relate to and not just be about sex. It was more than a physical connection.

More on the romantic note?

Yeah.

Gotcha. Did you guys meet before the public knew about you or after?

I met him after the public knew about me. He hit me up first because he used to see one of my model friends. I met him through her. [We’ve known each other] for a few months.

What made that video stand out so much amongst the rest was that you painted Soulja as a cokehead. Was that coke or baby powder?

I don’t really want to talk about the video because me and him decided not to talk about the video ever again.

Right. So what did he do?

With the Soulja Boy stuff, everyone was saying ‘I would never lay up with this dirty bitch, blah blah’ and he was saying the same stuff about me to another girl. She was actually my best friend and he was seeing her and me at the same time. I didn’t think it was going to be that tragic. It was a drunk day when I recorded the video.

Did you apologize in person?

I actually started talking to him [again] on Twitter.

I’m guessing DM helped that out?

Yeah through DM is how we started talking again.

Is there anyone else you’ve apologized to that you’re cool with now?

Nah, I haven’t apologized even when I get slapped from people in their camp. I talk to Fab and his peoples from time to time. I even became kind of cool with the guy that slapped me. [Laughs] It’s crazy.

It is. So you’re cool with a dude who slapped you?

Fab is not like the rest of the guys who started up in the industry. He’s from the streets and I understand the code of the streets that I disrespected him. Fab didn’t send them to do that to me. They were actually his close friends and acted out that day. The guy who slapped me apologized and said it was out of anger. They started talking to me more after my Soulja Boy video.

Are you still in physical relationships with other rappers?

I still mess around with other rappers but it’s just dating, like single dating.

According to numerous reports Justin Bieber is being investigated for assault stemming from an alleged laser tag incident. Apparently Bieber was cornered by a 12-year-old who wouldn't stop shooting. The OMG Girlz, once a four member girl group, now has members Bahja(Beauty),14, Zonnique(Star),14, and Lourdes(Lolo),11. Missing from the group is former OMG girl Reginae Carter, daughter of famed rapper Lil Wayne. When asked why Reginae left the group, the girls are quick to tell Blackcelebkids.com that Reginae “wasn’t taken out of the group. Her parents took her out, but we’re not sure of the reasons.”

They have been crowned the new age TLC and though they draw a lot of inspiration from the pioneering female group, the OMG Girlz want to make a name for themselves. Second Rikers Island Guard Accused Of Favoring Lil Wayne

A second guard at Rikers Island Prison is being accused of giving rapper Lil Wayne preferential treatment.

As previously reported, a Rikers Island guard filed a lawsuit against the institution in April after she was fired for allegedly trying to sneak a peek at the rapper while he was in holding.

Now a second official is being reprimanded, this time for “spending extra time with the star.”

The New York Post reports that Capt. Latanya Brown was questioned by the Corrections Department after officials believe she allowed Wayne to stay in his cell while other inmates were made to leave their bunks and report to the recreational area.

Rikers says they have a zero tolerance policy for officers who give preferential treatment but famously had a guard resign after a favoritism scandal linked to rapper Foxy Brown.

In 2006, guards reportedly allowed Foxy to wear makeup, watch television, and accept outside food and clothing.

Special Task Force Attacks Lil Wayne while in prison

After gaining the attention of fans earlier this week with a heart felt letter from behind bars, incarcerated New Orleans rapper Lil’ Wayne is making headlines in a less favorable way.

Apparently the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is after Lil’ Wayne’s fortunes, seeking over $1.13 million dollars in back taxes for the years 2004, 2005 and 2007.

The IRS filed and a lien against his One Family Foundation this past June in Dade County Florida courts, as the lien maintains the same address as his charitable organization.

This is the second tax lien filed against Wayne in the last 2 years as in 2008 he paid off a tax debt of $977,840

Representatives for Lil’ Wayne could not be reached for comments at the time of press release.

Multiple sources confirmed with AllHipHop.com that the IRS has a special unit that tails and tracks the artists, as one of the methods used to keep a tab on their earnings.

The “issue management team” was formed in 2007 and its goal is to get unclaimed tax money from athletes and entertainers in the United States and foreigners who come to tour the country.

“A few years ago, they concluded that athlete and entertainer taxes might be escaping their radar. So they reinstated a division to only deal with this area,” said Bill Zysblat of the global touring/accounting company RZO Productions.

A number of rappers have fallen into tax troubles since 2007.

Artists and executives like Suge Knight ($6 million), Nas ($3 million), DMX ($1.5 million), Lil Wayne ($1 million), Swizz Beatz ($645,000), Snoop Dogg ($598,000), Fat Joe ($140,000), Method Man ($40,000) and numerous others have had to account to the IRS in the past year alone.

A source told AllHipHop.com that in the pursuit of the tax dollars, a variety of artists have landed in trouble for other infractions, such as gun possession and a variety of drug charges.

The IRS is also investigating a number of record labels and artists, who ran money through their non-profits for commercial gains.

Lil Wayne unleashed a lyrical tirade on Drake's "Light Up," with the incarcerated rapper contributing a remix verse to the Jay-Z-featured track from behind bars. But how exactly did the collaboration come about?

According to footage provided to MTV News by DJ Scoob Doo, Young Money cohort Mack Maine challenged his boss to drop some rhymes to the Tone Mason and Noah "40" Shebib banger. The scene will be featured on Scoob Doo's forthcoming DVD project featuring Lil Wayne, "The Nino Brown Story, Pt. 3."

"You was supposed to have that third [verse]," Mack tells Wayne after the rapper called him. "Write something to that."

Wayne and Mack were talking about Jay-Z's opening lines to the second verse, which Weezy admired.

"Yeah, man, ain't nobody talking about what your boy talking about," he said of Jay. "That n---a is stupid [with his rhymes]. I said, 'Oooh, look at that.' "

Mack and Wayne go back and forth, bantering about what the Cash Money Records superstar would sound like on the song.

Then, Wayne finally responds. "Come up with a [verse]? Don't play with me, man," Weezy tells Mack over the phone. "Just drop that beat to a breakdown to where you can really hear what I'm saying. I'll write 100 bars to that. Don't play with me. Let me know when it's set up, and I'll do it.

"It's over," he adds. "I got it already."

The two then coordinate a time for Wayne to call an engineer to help clean up the rapper's vocals, which were slightly distorted, since he had to rap over the phone. The result was classic Wayne, chock-full of punch lines and illuminating lyrics.

"I'm feeling like Elvis, 'Jailhouse Rock,' " Wayne raps via telephone. "I'm not Tupac, I'm the new 'Pac/ Behind bars, but the bars don't stop/ Recording over the phone, I hope the call don't drop/ Drizzy got the ball, I know the ball won't drop/ And I pray none of my kids ever wanna be Pop."

As of press time, it's unknown if the "Light Up" remix will be included on the official Thank Me Later release or possibly a later deluxe version.

Drake announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he would be visiting his mentor in prison on Wednesday (June 2).

"FINALLY got some time for a visit tmrw to go see my brother," Drake wrote. "So if you got msgs that need to be delivered write #TellWayne."

The Toronto MC has been on the road and putting the final touches on his debut, Thank Me Later, since Weezy turned himself in to prison back in March.

In an interview Drake gave to MTV Jams in honor of Lil Tunechi Weekend, the So Far Gone superstar admitted he missed his Young Money cohort, from their friendly rivalry to the veteran rapper's guidance.

"One of the most important things in my life was being able to always see that Weezy e-mail come in," Drake explained while donning a white T-shirt emblazoned with the rapper's face and the words "Free Wayne." "Or be able to respond to that e-mail or be able to ask him a question. Be able to utilize his knowledge. Our communication, I would say I miss that."

Since the rapper has been away, Drake has done his best to keep Lil Wayne's name alive, from shouting him out at shows to bringing him up in interviews.

Wayne has done a good job himself of staying active in the public's mind, releasing a spate of videos and hosting a mixtape from behind bars.

According to the New York City Department of Correction website, Wayne is allowed visits on Wednesdays between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The two will be allocated an hour of time for the visit and Drake will be subjected to multiple searches before he'll come face to face with Wayne.

Fans have followed Drake's instructions and are hoping he relays a number of messages, including notes of support and wishes for Wayne's next album to arrive soon.

Drizzy also will be relaying a message from his own mother to Wayne.

"I talked to mother, she loves you to death," Drake told MTV. "That's from Mama Graham."

US music sales hit massive low . The music world suffered its worst ever sales week this week since 1991, the year SoundScan started measuring over-the-counter sales. 5.3 million albums sold in the past week in the United States.

The number one album by Justin Bieber was worth just over 60,000 sales, that in itself was the second lowest selling number one ever recorded.

Last week, metal band Godsmack topped the chart with 117,000 sales. As metal fans are prone to buy an album as soon as it’s out, that album dropped 63 percent to 43,000 and dropped back to no. 9. Paul Gray, the bassist for Grammy-winning metal band Slipknot, was found dead Monday in an Iowa hotel room.

A hotel employee found Gray, 38, dead in a room at the Town Plaza Hotel in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines, police said in a statement. Foul play isn't suspected, and an autopsy is planned for Tuesday.

A person who answered the phone at the band's record company, Roadrunner Records, wouldn't give his name and declined comment.

Slipknot's self-titled debut in 1999 sold more than a million copies.

Known for its grotesque masks, the band won a Grammy in 2006 for best metal performance for the song Before I Forget. Pollstar, a concert-industry magazine, ranked Slipknot 18th in its Top 20 Concert Tours list in 2009.

Most of the band's members grew up in the Des Moines area.

Andy Hall, music director of Des Moines rock station Lazer 103.3, said he'd known Gray for 10 years. He described him as a talented bass player who was also one of the friendliest, most caring people he knew.

“This is a big blow, not only to the community of Des Moines but fans of metal at large, worldwide,” Hall said. “It's a devastating loss. Paul was a wonderful human being.”

The station was planning to broadcast an hour-long tribute to Gray on Monday night.

According to published reports, Lil Wayne's videographer DJ Scoob Doo, who is best known for his popular Nino Brown street DVDs is ready to take to series to cable.

In an interview with XXLMag.com, the New Jersey-bred documentarian said he was in talks with several cable networks, including Spike TV and Fuse, but ultimately he wants the series to land on a network like HBO to showcase his uncensored behind-the-scenes footage of Weezy.

“A media network like HBO could have the best impact because they won't try to censor it,” he said. “They push the envelope of what they show.”

Although censored, some of the Nino Brown footage has already appeared on MTV for the “Road to Rikers” series, which showcased Lil' Wayne's last days as a free man before turning himself in to serve his one year stint.

“You could just imagine what I could have just being with the team, and being with Wayne on his countdown to jail,” Scoob told XXLmag.com in the interview. “Even when he didn't know he was going to jail, ever since No Ceilings came out, and even before that, it's a lot of sh*t that I'm trying to catch people up with behind the scenes in what's goin' on.”

In addition, Yukmouth has released a statement denying that former Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight led a group of men who attacked him on Monday (March 22).

As previously reported, this is in vast contrast to the original report taken by police at the scene, where it is reported that Yukmouth originally identified Knight as one of 11 men who way laid him out in the parking lot of a San Fernando Valley supermarket and robbed him of $92,000 worth of jewelry.

In an interview with VladTV.com, Yukmouth states that he refused to cooperate with police, will not press charges and denied Knight was involved with the assault. He did however place blame on the Los Angeles Police Department claiming that officers have a vendetta against Suge Knight.

“The LA police have been calling me trying to have me come in and cooperate, but it's not happening,” Yukmouth said.

According to Yukmouth, other people in the parking lot who watched the group of men assault him are actually the ones who called the police and filed reports.

As of press time, there was no word yet on if Suge has turned himself in to satisfy an unrelated warrant and to answer questions.

Universal Records To Lower Price of CDs

In light of the looming economy and the rise of Internet downloads, Universal Records is announcing plans to lower the price of new releases.

The record company's sales have dropped an estimated 16% in 2010 alone based largely on the sale of digital albums on ITunes and Amazon.

In order to compete with the digital music providers, Universal will provide physical copies of CDs at $10 or less.

Speaking on the new sales initiative, Universal Music Group Distribution Chairman/CEO Jim Urie hopes it will “bring new life into the physical format.”

The new idea is being called the “Velocity” pricing program and will target increasing sales at retail shops that have scaled back on floor space dedicated to music.

Beginning in the second quarter and continuing through most of the year, the company's Velocity program will test lower CD prices. Single CDs will have the suggested list prices of $10, $9, $8, $7 and $6.

Universal Records accounts for 28.7 percent of year-to-date U.S. album sales.

The first titles to be released under the “Velocity” campaign are reportedly from GodSmack, Taio Cruz and R.E.D. from the Game.

Drake Promises To Hold Lil Wayne Down While He's Locked Up

Drake is bracing for more than just the release of his debut album, Thank Me Later, these days.

The Young Money artist is bracing to fulfill the promise he made to his mentor and Young Money CEO Lil Wayne before he started his one year bid at New York State's Rikers Island, to lead the YM camp in his absence.

"I'm gonna do everything I told him I would do, what I said in the song: keep us afloat till he gets back. You won't even notice he's gone.”

When asked about his feelings surrounding Lil' Wayne's incarceration and situation he states to MTV:

“I don't think fame really has anything to do with his situation. We take precautions. All of us do. To be in the public eye and to be envied and have people who hate you and never have met you or have people who love you and tattoo your face on their body and never have met you, it's an odd feeling for anybody. It's a rush [for me]. I love it. It gets weird sometimes.

So it's just personal choices we all make. I never felt that threatened. I'm not sure what's going through his head at the time. But Wayne has a reason for everything, always. I trust in Wayne. I believe in Wayne. He's gonna be all right."

Although he has big shoes to fill, Drake promises that fans will not be disappointed with his long awaited debut.

"It's gonna be bigger, it's gonna sound happier," Drake told IM Flashy comparing it to his So Far Gone album. "Yeah, it's gonna sound bigger, it's gonna sound victorious because that's where I am in my life… I really studied Nas to be honest, Nas was like somebody that I used to listen to his raps and not really understand 'how' he did it, I always wanted to understand how he painted those pictures and his bar structure and all of that. I went back and really studied Nas, studied Andre 3000 [for this album] and I hope you like it."

Lil Wayne's Young Money and Cash Money family is getting set to take the stage again for a tour. As previously reported, Wayne and his YM team are anticipating the release of their two-disc set. Followers of team Wayne will see the We Are Young Money album tagged to his Rebirth rock album. That project was pushed back a week and now hits stores December 22. So what's the best way to promote a new album? A tour of course!

YM and CM will be hitting the road and according to Young Money's Gudda Gudda, the tour should be bigger than their summer session of ‘America's Most Wanted.'

He told NewLilWayne.com about the upcoming dates saying,

“Definitely got a tour starting, supposed to be anywhere in between the 10th and the 14th of next month…it's a Young Money/Cash Money tour. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be either as big or bigger. We don't take two steps back, you know every time we do something we try to keep moving forward, more progress every time we do something. So, definitely might be either bigger, if not on the same level as one of the others but it's definitely gonna be a big tour.”

In particular,an interviewer took it upon himself to ask the million dollar question, “WHEN IS HE RELEASING DETOX?!”

The good doctor answered the question very vaguely saying,

“The minute it's done and it feels right to me, that's when it'll come out. Hopefully in the beginning of the year.”

Just as he thought he would be asked about his latest technological advance, Dre found himself cornered once again after being presented with a question about 50 Cent and Game. When asked his opinion on their consistently brewing beef he responded,

Lil Wayne and his Young Money camp are becoming the latest victims in the trend of album push backs.
As previously reported, Wayne officially confirmed in an interview that Young Money's debut album, We Are Young Money, would be released as a double disc with his Rebirth rock project.

Now unfortunately for stans eager to hear Young Mula's first major production, they'll have to wait a little while longer. Label reps for Universal Motown have confirmed that the upcoming We Are Young Money/Rebirth compilation will not hit stores on December 15 as scheduled.

Instead the projects are being pushed back a week and will hit stores on December 22, making it ideal for the Christmas holiday. The pushback does not come without competition; however, Wayne and his accessories will face off with Eminem's re-release of Relapse, Relapse: Refill.

Fabolous Steals 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

Police are investigating Fabolous and his entourage for a car stolen in early January of this year at an upscale Atlanta hotel. According to Channel 2 Action News, Atlanta police claim that Fabolous's crew stole a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. The rare vehicle was only 1 of the 2 brought into the United States last year.

Surveillance footage shows two members of Fabo's crew approaching the bellman and receiving keys to the Lambo. They then hop in it and drive away as if it was their car and it was just a daily exit for them. Fabolous and the rest of his crew would then follow behind them in a minivan making Fab well aware that they had stolen the car. After some investigation and promising Fab no jail time if he told the location, Fab was quick to snitch and released the details of the car.

Although investigators tried to sue the rapper and his gang for criminal charges once the car was discovered, Attorney Paul Howard cited the investigators and claimed he would not go back on his promise.

The actual Lambo owner Eric Vargosko is now pressing charges against the hotel for giving away his rare car while asking for no kind of proof or identification. The Intercontinental hotel has put out the statement, “We hold the safety, comfort and well-being of our guests and employees as our top priority and concern. We have taken several measures, including heightening security, so that a repeat of this incident does not happen.”

This is not the first time Fabo's goons have been accused of robbing people. In October of 2006, Fabolous' gang was caught on camera snatching a $50,000 dollar chain right off the neck of the Boston Celtics NBA player Sebastian Telfair. That night would later on escalate to the result of Fabolous being shot.

The fat lady is singing her a** off right now as words from Killa Cam have apparently hammered the final nail into the coffin in regards to his former set known as The Diplomats.

Questions have continued to arise about the camp and fans have continued to keep their fingers crossed hoping that Harlem would shake the foundation of music again.

With alleged reports of Hell Rell filing a lawsuit against Jim Jones to a rift between Killa and Juelz stirring from Santana's supposed addiction to syrup, Dipset has seen too many low points to even see the light to climb from the pit.

Speaking with Maybach TV, Killa spoke on the situation with the set and how people have had misconceptions about his place in the group.

“When I shake somebody's hand, this is what you see [Diplomats tattoo]. The only thing that bothers me is when niggas be like, ‘Oh, so you can be down with Dipset? They gon put you back down? How can you put somebody back down with something that they own?”

Aligned with Harlem rapper Vado, Byrd Lady, Felony Fame and Rod Rhaspy, Cam has continued to moved on with the new group, reportedly called The U.N. His split from Jones and Santana also allowed the rapper to branch out and create Killa Entertainment.

Teaming up with DJ Drama, he recently released the mixtape, Boss Of All Bosses which features his new acts.

Cam recently appeared alongside the Clipse for the music video to “Popular Demand” off the upcoming album Til the Casket Drops which is slated for December 8.

One question that comes up is where is the rapper's relationship with in terms of Damon Dash? With Dash on the verge of releasing a new compilation album, there has been word of him working with the likes of Jones, Mos Def and even Raekwon, but there hasn't even been a stir or any reference to the two in some time.

New Michael Jackson Song, “This Is It,” Premieres Online

The title track from the upcoming concert rehearsal film This Is It made its debut last night on the King of Pop’s official Website. “This Is It” opens with Jackson singing, “This is it, here I stand/I’m the light of the world, I feel grand.”

Two versions of “This Is It,” the original and an orchestral take, will be included on the two-disc soundtrack due out October 27, just one day before the This Is It documentary premieres.

The new song features background vocals by Jackson’s brothers and will be played during the closing sequence of the film.

Where Are You Yeezy? Kanye West Tries To Find Himself In India

I don't know about you but I feel like I saw this coming a mile away. Recently named one of MTV's “Hottest MCs in the Game”, Kanye West was also nominated for a whopping nine awards Saturday evening on October 10, but he did not show up to the 4th Annual BET Hip Hop Awards.

The word is after the Taylor Swift-gate Ye was going to take some time off. Then came news of Kayne backing out of the highly anticipated Fame Kills Tour with Lady Gaga and the never ending photo ops with Amber Rose.

Now Kayne is reportedly spending a month at a Hindu retreat in India.

There has been a lot of speculation about some of the choices Kanye West has been making in his life since the death of his mother in 2007 due to complications during surgery. Some say the 32 year old Ye has lost his way.

It seems West is taking some time out now for a religious retreat to reassess his life at a Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, a small coastal town in South India. According to an inside source he sees his life going in the wrong direction and feels badly about the VMA's incident.

I knew Kanye was headed for a sabbatical when I heard the Beyonce "Ego" Remix featuring the Chi-town rapper. These lyrics made me think he was headed for disaster.

It's a celebrity like this that ends up collapsing under the weight of stuff like this. His celebration of ego had me visualizing Kanye on top of a mountain in Tibet sitting with monks, trying to find out the meaning of life and the right size for the ego. He'd put on one of their robes and drink goji berry juice.

After coming down from that thin, enlightening mountain air and getting back to his celebrity he would blog about how everybody should try goji berry juice and meditate. Maybe even throw it in a song or too and make you feel pedestrian for now being up on this new, hot ancient freshness like him.

Surely he would slip into excesses and attention whoreiness again but he'd take another sabbatical before the next album and repeat the process again.

Ok, so I was off a bit about the country. Also, I thought this "breakdown" would happen sooner, with emotional lower stakes in the media's response to his actions and that he would be back to being the Kanye South Park loved to make fun of by now.

I'll bet he is going through a rough time right now and a retreat would probably be good for him. I in no way want to make light of what Kanye West must be feeling right now and I think the loss of his mother plays a big role in this.

Hopefully he can come back an even more refreshing and creative Kanye than the one the won us over with his debut The College Dropout in 2004. Hopefully he will be more at peace but still outspoken and eager as ever...and probably with a song like Alanis Morrissette's thanking India.

Asher Roth Disses Obama, Should Focus On Getting A Twitter Publicist Instead

Rap newcomer Asher Roth had this to say about President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize:

Didn't know you could win the peace prize by just talking sh*t...I'm all for "hope" and "progress" but people have been dedicating their lives for peace - actions speak louder than words - my opinion only...@Cpetty281 I disagree, I think change starts at the basement level - change starts with us, the people - were being manipulated Has nothing to do with "Obama" and everything to do with the "Peace Prize" - change starts with us, the people - who's gon wake up first? Seek truth.

President Obama described himself as surprised and deeply humbled. So in response to the Norwegian Nobel Committee's it seems people have broken down into 3 camps.

The first, those who hate this decision.
The second, those who like this decision.
The third, those who are pretty confused.

I'd venture to guess most are in that last group, including President Obama, based on his speech about the news and how long it took him to make it.

I was a bit confused to at first too because he is a war president, but then things made more sense to me. I don't think this award was given to President Obama based on rhetoric. I think it's more so based on his campaign, his goals for peace, his stance on climate change and a big fat f*** you to 2 time president George W. Bush.

This award pushes and supports President Obama in a way Black people, Latinos, progressives and young people could not. Now before the whole world it's his honor and his burden. He is going to feel pressured to live up to it and he should.

There are people that agree with Asher Roth but would never say it like that especially with the track record Asher has of suffering from the dreaded foot-in-mouth-disease.

This is by far not one of the smartest things this rapper has ever said on Twitter in reference to someone Black. His past comments include this in reference to Don Imus's infamous statements about the Rutgers ladies basketball team:

"Been a day of rest and relaxation — sorry twitter hanging with nappy headed hoes."

He quickly apologized on Twitter then went on to make other ridiculous statements in interviews like this one with the Canadian Press:

"...All these black rappers - African rappers - talking about how much money they have. 'Do you realize what's going on in Africa right now?' It's just like, 'You guys are disgusting..."

Maybe Asher Roth should focus on actually making good rap that people who know rap can like instead of riding the wave of MTV cosigns.

Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” Soundtrack Details Announced

At the stroke of midnight EST on October 12th, the never-before-released Michael Jackson song “This Is It,” the closer from the upcoming concert rehearsal film This Is It, will premiere at the King of Pop’s official Website, it was announced today. “This Is It” features background vocals by the Jackson brothers. The film will begin its two-week theatrical run with special advance screenings on October 27th, with a wider release set for October.

Additionally, the track list for the two-disc This Is It soundtrack, due out October 27th, was also revealed. The first disc will feature the original masters of some of Jackson’s biggest hits in an order that corresponds with how the songs would have appeared in the This Is It concerts. Two versions of “This Is It” will close out the first disc, the original and an orchestral take. Disc Two of This Is It will feature three demos — “She’s Out Of My Life,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” and “Beat It” — plus the spoken-word piece “Planet Earth.” The two-disc set will also include a 36-page booklet featuring photos from Jackson’s last This Is It rehearsal before his death on June 25th.

Soulja Boy's preparing to perform Saturday at the BET awards in Atlanta and has been active on Twitter asking his fans to vote for the song he should perform. Now just a day before the main event he's making headlines for being arrested. Although it's been kept under wraps, Soulja Boy was arrested Wednesday in Henry County, Georgia. He was on the set of Frenchie 1017 Brick Squad's makeshift video shoot for “Gangsta Muzik” at a house in Mcdonough.

According to Henry County Police they were called to the house after being told people “were hanging out there.” When they arrived on the scene they found 40 plus people in the home that scattered and ran away. One of those people was 19-year-old Deandre Way a.k.a. Soulja Boy who was arrested after returning to the home to get in his white Range Rover. While it's been kept out of the headlines, Soulja Boy confirmed that he was arrested Wednesday on his Twitter to Money Stalka Marcus of his S.O.D. Money Gang. After the rapper announced to his 1 million plus followers that he was “back”, Marcus asked:

To which Soulja Boy responded:

Lil Wayne Court Date Announced

Lil Wayne's date with fate is on the way. The date for his upcoming court case for drug and gun charges has finally been announced. He was arrested on his tour bus in January of 2008 after Arizona police discovered a loaded hand gun, marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy on board. Wayne's been charged with one count of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Now he's expected to appear in a Yuma County, Arizona court room at 1:30 p.m. on March 30, 2010 to face the music.

According to The Yuma Sun, Judge Mark Wayne Reeces made the decision Thursday in a federal court room. After asking attorneys how long they though the trial would last, Deane Sandry, who is prosecuting for the Yuma County Attorney's Office responded: “I'm going to guesstimate that two weeks should be sufficient.”

While defense attorney, James Tilson responded by saying due to his client's notoriety and the media coverage of the case, the trial could take as long as three weeks.

The date is not set in stone however; a final trial management conference will take place two weeks prior to the trial.

50 Apologizes For Kanye Comments, Album Cover Revealed

Just when you thought 50 Cent had no heart, he turns around and proves everyone wrong. Or does he? His PR team was no doubt in overdrive to clean up the comments he made Wednesday on Hot 97's Angie Martinez Show. As previously reported, Fif made it no secret his thoughts about the now cancelled ‘Fame Kills' tour with Kanye West and Lady Gaga, deeming it the “gay tour.” Now he claims that he was just misunderstood. Yeah, right.

He explained himself saying:

“During an interview with Angie Martinez yesterday, certain comments I made were taken entirely out of context.
"When I referred to the Lady Gaga tour as ‘the gay tour,' I was basically repeating what I thought she had referred to the tour in the past.”

He also adds that his words were not meant to be offensive and seems to take a slight jab at Ye again. He calls out Lady Gaga directly saying that she makes “great music” but doesn't mention Kanye. Instead he says he doesn't “have a problem with anyone's lifestyle.”

"It was not my intention to offend anyone. I don't have a problem with anyone's lifestyle and have no issue with Lady Gaga. She makes great music."

Is it just me or did he just call him gay again on the low?

While he's steady throwing low key insults, 50's revealed the album cover for his latest album, ‘Before I Self Destruct.' The album cover is fitting showing a close up of the MC looking like he's half man and half machine with one side of his face destructing. The album will hit stores November 17.

Amy Winehouse Rap Attempt a True Horror Show

50 Cent Fires Back At Jay-Z

Jamaica Queen's finest is taking shots at his next victim. The latest to get on 50 Cent's list is none another than the Jigga man himself, Jay-Z. To be fair everyone remembers when Jay appeared on Trevor Nelson's British radio show and semi-dissed him. When asked if he thought Kanye would've gone on stage during the VMAs if Fifty was getting an award, Jay replied

“I think he would have done that if that was 50 Cent. No one is scared of 50 Cent. I want everyone to be clear. No one is scared of 50 Cent."

The statement to Trevor Nelson took place weeks ago and now Fifty's finally responding. During an interview Wednesday with Hot 97's Angie Martinez he calmy deciphered the situation in his own words, deeming Jay as a “cool punk” and saying that he has a “punk presentation”

“He should've addressed the guy that made him feel like a punk where he had to make it clear that no one's scared of 50 cent. Because that person, was obviously making him feel like he's afraid or Kanye West's afraid of 50 Cent. It wasn't 50 Cent and see the public misinterprets it…….Hip-Hop has cool punk and Jay is the coolest punk in Hip-Hop. His presentation makes people decide to say….because, he's big. He's big! And his take on it is bigger than the art form and he won't actually and compete. Battling has been a part of the culture…….When he says that noone's afraid of 50 Cent it's because the public is responding to his punk presentation.”

Just to make things clear, he also made sure to add.

“Kanye would NOT take a trophy from me. Neither would Jay-Z.”

Leaving no stone untouched, Fif also fired shots at Ye on the sly, asking if his impending tour with Lady Gaga was called “the gay tour.”

As previously reported 50 Cent took shots at Fat Joe earlier this week and did the unthinkable. He leaked his nemisis' album, J.O.S.E 2., Jealous Ones Still Envy, on his website. Fifty didn't stop there he released two hilarious viral videos depicting himself being rushed to the hospital after listening to the album. We'll just have to wait and see how all this 50 Cent drama transpires.

Weezer Recruit Lil Wayne for "Party" Anthem!

At first glance, the letters "W-E-E-Z" are the only thing Weezer and Lil Wayne, a.k.a. Weezy F. Baby, have in common. But dig a little deeper and you'll find at least one other common interest: Partying, something Wayne excels at and Rivers Cuomo and Co. are celebrating on "Can't Stop Partying," a track off their new album, Raditude (out Oct. 27). And we all know what parties do -- bring people together! Yep: Cuomo recruited Wayne to rhyme on the track!

"Weezer is always trying something new," Cuomo told MTV News. "So I reached out to some friends of mine in different genres: Jermaine Dupri, for example, king of R&B, I wrote a song with him called 'Can't Stop Partying.' It was a real challenge for me, taking his ideas, which are very slick, R&B party [ideas], and giving it some kind of edge, some darkness, making it work with rock, making it work with Weezer."

"Not only that, but we got Lil Wayne to come in and do a rap on it," Cuomo added. "Any other rapper would've just done, 'Yay, we're partying! Let's drink and have fun,' but he gave it the edge I was looking for. You can hear in his voice, it sounds so dark, like he was gonna get shot or something when he walks out of the studio."

But Dupri and Wayne aren't the only ones contributing to Weezer's upcoming release. Cuomo also recruited All-American Rejects' Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler, songwriter/producer Butch Walker, and super-producer Dr. Luke -- and his newfound revolving-door approach to songwriting may pay off. Raditude's first single, the pop-rock jam "If You're Wondering If I Want You To (I Want You To)," is a vast improvement from the band's past few releases.

Diddy Signs With Interscope

Sean "Diddy" Combs has signed with Interscope Geffen A&M, it was announced today by Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M. The new label deal will include all Diddy's future music ventures and his upcoming album, Last Train To Paris, will be the first release on the new joint venture between Bad Boy Records and Interscope. The single "Love Come Down" will be serviced physically and digitally this week with a video, directed by Rage, to follow shortly.

Iovine spoke about the deal stating,

"Puff is a rare person in the music industry today, that can move the culture in many areas - fashion, TV, music - as well as making records. Whenever a free agent like him comes along, which is rare, you grab him."

Diddy leaves Warner Music Group (WMG) imprint Atlantic Records after five years. The current Bad Boy roster and catalog will remain with Bad Boy's WMG joint venture.

Diddy added,

Weezy Says Eminem Collab Doesn't Count

Being deemed the hardest working rapper out right now, Lil Wayne was able to take some time out to relax as he celebrated his 27th birthday this weekend.

Somewhat following in the footsteps of Jay, his age has shown Wayne taking more chances and stepping outside the box. If Rebirth isn't an indication, his recent work with Madonna shows his passion for music and not just Hip-Hop.

The rapper-eater has already worked with his mentor in rap, Jay-Z, on many occasions, but he has also always spoken on wanting to work with Eminem. He even went as far as to challenge the Detroit MC to get on a track with him as if he was afraid to see what would happen.

That day finally came, somewhat, when the two jumped on Drake's “Forever” track with Kanye West. This isn't enough for Weezy though as he stated that the cut doesn't really count as the collaboration he has been looking for.

Speaking with DJ Drama on Hot 107.9 in Atlanta, the mixtape monster opened up on his dream collab potentially coming true.

“That don't officially count because I wanted a record with just me and Em. He got on the record for Lebron, not Lil Wayne. We still looking for that one right there.”

He also took time out to speak on the big homie, Jay, as he gave his reaction to the Brooklyn rapper's latest project The Blueprint III.

“I love Hov for that and I love everything that Hov do, as I always have. He's still my role model, my idol. Rappers need to understand that Hov is certifying for us to do it for a long time. That's what that means. When you see someone, and I'm not talking about age, on the level of his success he's at, he literally doesn't have to do any of this anymore…That man has multiple enterprises and he doesn't have to do it at all and he still does it to perfection. I think we all should respect him for that and I know I do. Hats off.”

With legal issues finally behind them, Drama and Wayne even spoke on continuing The Dedication series where Weezy simply stated he was waiting on the green light.

“You know Dedication 4 got to set up Carter 4.”

The Gillett Entertainment Group and Live Nation sent out a release on Friday denying that Manson had contracted the illness and confirming that he would play his two remaining Canadian tour dates.

Manson was to play in Halifax on Friday and Moncton, N.B., on Saturday.
The release contradicts posts on Manson's MySpace and Facebook pages that were attributed to the artist. The posts have since been removed.

Rumor has it, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo might've been dropped from their label, Interscope Records, or they are about to. If the latter is true, then it just might sting a little more that they are getting word about it from the press and not from their labels or at least their leaders lips.

To add gin to the tonic, Rick Ross ,who has remained not so mum on his disgust and discontent with 50 Cent's existence, has been flapping his gums all around Hip Hop quarters with talks that the rumors are true. While sitting down for an interview, Rick purposely let slip out that Lloyd and Tony were kicked to the curb by Interscope,

In addition to Rick Ross' rants about the new change in the G-Unit line up, DJ Funk Master Flex who is the radio DJ for New York City's own Hot 97.1, also gave hint to the recent label change with the G-Unit crew members. Apparently, someone rubbed Flex the wrong way, and the way he dealt with it was nothing close to pretty. Along with refusing to play any songs from artists that were signed under Interscope he also had some extra parting words,

Honestly, none of this comes as a shock. Tony Yayo is not one of the best rappers in the game, he's not even the best rapper in G-Unit. A lot of 50's fans felt a little robbed when Tony finally came out after months of 50 constantly talking about Tony who at the time was serving his sentence in jail. When Tony dropped his first single, it left a lot of Hip Hop fans thinking, Is this it? Is this what we've been waiting for?!

Lloyd Banks who is a lot better than Tony, has not had a single that could stick or raise public appeal since his last claim to fame 3 or 4 years ago.

So have Lloyd and Tony been dropped from Interscope? We'll have to wait and see. Seems like 50 beefing with Rick Ross just might not have been a good idea after all, especially when home wasn't taken cared of.

Chris Brown is reacting to a clip that was released in which he said he didn’t remember beating Rihanna.

Here’s his statement:

“There have been reports on the Internet that I didn’t remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set things straight.

That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like 4 or 5 times — and when you look at the entire interview you will see it is not representative of what I said.

The first four times – or how ever many times it was – I gave the same answer — which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn’t fair to Rihanna. The fifth time – or whatever it was – I just misspoke. I was asked, “Do you remember doing it?” and I said, “No.”

Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am or is what happened like anything I have ever done before.

As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can’t. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future.”

Two months after being signed to Young Money Entertainment, Omarion has been dropped from the giant recording company. Spilling the beans about the matter is the label’s president Mack Maine on his Twitter which reveals that Omarion is fired because he has allegedly leaked his duet song with Lil Wayne.

“ATTN: Omarion is no longer Young Money … the song they leaked ft. Wayne is not official .. good luck 2 him in his future,” so Mack wrote. Shortly after that, one of Young Money’s artists Jae Millz re-tweeted Mack’s short message, apparently trying to emphasize that the news is not a rumor.

Omarion was previously signed to Epic Records before he joined Young Money Entertainment in June. He is currently working on his next studio album titled “A New Me”. Now that he is out of Young Money, it seems that the rapper has to seek a new home to drop the effort.

Up to date, Omarion hasn’t offered any comment concerning him being axed from Young Money.

I didn't hear this song until a few days ago, When i heard it I couldn't stop playing it. It amazes me how Rockstars cry out but no one hears them until it's to late.
The music sounds good but people get so lost in the beats that they don't hear the screams we scream.

With Chris Brown finally offering a public apology for letting his temper get the best of him and striking ex-girlfriend Rihanna, what’s the next stop on his “I’m Sorry” tour?

Could it be a seat on Oprah Winfrey’s couch? That’s the word.

It’s rumored that Chris Brown’s camp is in negotiations with The Oprah Winfrey Show about making an appearance on the Goddess of the Universe’s talk show.

Only there’s one catch: Breezy doesn’t want to talk about the specifics of what happened between he and Rihanna the night he reportedly beat her.

However, it seems Oprah’s people have popped back and made it clear that they don’t want anything on the table.

With respect to all of you teeny boppers who throw your training bras at Chris in concert, it doesn’t compare to the power of Oprah’s legion of fans. If Chris wants to go back to pop locking for Doublemint gum, I’d sit on the couch, cry and let Oprah verbally spank me.

In the end, he can show remorse and can be back in the mainstream media’s good graces.

Tina Davis is Chris Brown’s longtime manager. According to TMZ, their sources confirm that the 39 year old Tina Davis sent Brown the text message which, according to police reports precipitated the fight and assault of Rihanna and that the text came “from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.”

A study at Liverpool John Moores University concluded that rock stars are more likely to die at a premature age than average human beings. For millions, becoming a rock star is an ultimate goal.

Millions around the world dream of fame, trying every possible thing to achieve a breakthrough and finally become a rock star. A British study concluded that the average age of death for music stars was 42 for North American stars and 35 for British stars.

Let’s face it. It takes a lot of risks and sacrifice to become a rock star. Before achieving that stage, people in search of becoming a star, often go through countless hurdles such as being creative, getting noticed, finding production companies and getting people to like their music. Once they achieve their dreams, a few lucky ones will become idols and release album after album and climb into fame, while hundreds of others will experience temporary success, before being forgotten by the public.

Money and fame, as well as the exhilarating life style is the main attraction for potential rock stars, who of course consider themselves artists, and therefore put their main focus on their art.

The funny thing is that long term drug or alcohol problems only account for a little more than one fourth of the deaths. Managing success is no easy task, whether psychologically or as far as the star’s life style is concerned. The study confirmed that the first years of success are the most dangerous, as the chances of dying are multiplied by a third. Yet, after 25 years of success, the study shows that chances of death are back to normal.

The media and the music industry are partly to blame for this fact, as well as the common belief that one can be more creative with excessive use of alcohol and/or drugs. Pop or rock stars are known to attract excessive media attention, while being manipulated by producers, since media attention generates better album sales.

Another fact is that many musicians die in poverty and are not able to afford health care, especially in the US. Therefore, famous musicians should focus on their art, but also on their way of life, as they should be advised by psychologists and managers on how to deal with emotional and money issues.

The sad fact is that musicians are often spoiled and addicted to fame, and face huge blows once they retrieve anonymousness. That often leads to depression and the rest. Though people claim that since people are now aware of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, the rock star related death rates are likely to fall. There are claims that rock stars living hedonistic life styles have reduced over the past few years. That may be true, as the study shows that the number of musicians who died few years after their first hit today is divided by two compared to thirty years ago. Yet, pressure on artists might have been multiplied by a lot more than that, as competition in the field has gone wild and artists may get kicked out by their record companies as soon as sales go down.

Therefore, the media, rather than promoting such as reality shows that promise to make people rock stars within a few months, should also inform potential artists about the dangers related to their job.

Em released a new diss song titled song “Warning” Thursday. In an attempt to ride further on the mega-star's glittery coat-tails, the song takes things lower than low with gritty details of the sex life he and Mariah reportedly shared and a warning to “shut the fuck up” before things get worse, threatening to release pictures and voicemails from the star.

Well, well, well…it’s seems that some were doing just a bit too much boasting about what they can do and have instead of just producing results. Word on the street has it that Dipset, Byrd Gang rapper Jim Jones has been dropped of Major label Columbia/Sony. Apparently Jones spends a bit too much time ‘tweeting’ and goading Jay-Z and not enough time selling albums. Jones has officially had two releases while on Sony — the Byrd Gang compilation “M.O.B. (Members of Byrd Gang)” & the recently released “Pray IV Reign” both releases didn’t sell well.

He’s not alone; Bow Wow has also been dropped from the label. Outside of under performing, Bow Weezy has also taken to twitter and used the social site to plea to his label to release him. It seems they have been “following” him and granted him his wish. Bow’s latest release “New Jack City 2″ sent him into retirement from the rap game.

According to Power 106, Busta Rhymes has been dropped from his label, Interscope Records.

While nothing has been confirmed, rumors indicate that the rapper was involved in a heated argument with label chairman, Jimmy Iovine, which resulted in Busta leaving the label.

Many speculate that it may have something to do with delays with his eighth studio album, Blessed, which was originally set for July, but has since been pushed back with no new date of release in sight.

Interscope reps said they were not able to comment on the rumors, but said they plan to release a formal statement soon.

American Idol” Clay Aiken Gets Dropped by RCA Records

As we predicted earlier, Clay Aiken is the latest American Idol finalist to be dropped by RCA Records recently. Before him were Blake Lewis, Katharine McPhee, Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard.

Some now speculate that Clay being dropped this week is just part of RCA cleaning house, while others wonder if it is something more. The last year has brought a lot of controversy around Clay Aiken from his sexuality to the fact that he chose to have a child with a friend out of wedlock.� Could that be the real reason?

One thing’s for sure: Clay’s teenybopper fan base has surely massively declined since his open gayness and baby-making with a friend has commenced. My friends at Mediatakeout is reporting that Raven Symone, star of the Disney Channel's "That's So Raven" has been officially dropped from the Disney record label, Hollywood Records. Reports say her last CD sold less than 10,000 copies!
Personally I don't care how many records she sold I would drink her bath water, lol.

Brandy Dropped By Label and Jay-Z's Roc Nation?

R&B singer Brandy has reportedly been given her walking papers from her record label and management team.

According to various media outlets, Epic Records and Jay-Z's Roc Nation Management decided to let the singer go because of the failure of her "comeback album" Human.

The LP has sold a mere 196,509 units since its December release.

Jessica Simpson Dropped From Record Label

After a string of flubbed live performances and a failing venture into country music, Simpson is being dropped from Sony BMG Nashville. She was touring with Rascal Flatts and forgot the words to many of her own songs and embarrassed herself on more than one occasion. Simpson has also had to restart several of her songs and lamented to concert goers about the band constantly having to save her. Joe Galante, head of Sony Nashville, is reportedly fed up and give her an ultimatum back in December. Shape up or ship out.

The searching eyes over at Country Music Tattle Tale noticed that her name is no longer on the artists list on the sites of Columbia Nashville or Sony Music Nashville. The sites have also been purged of anything Jessica related. Photos, press releases and her profile are noticeably absent.

This is just a rumor at this point, but I am sure a spin doctor is tirelessly working on a statement Jess will screw up later and will go something like:
